Marlboro High School Teacher Named As One Of NJ’s Exemplary Educators

These educators exhibit strong knowledge and skills, an inspiring presence and a positive impact on the school community, officials said.

MARLBORO, NJ — A science teacher at Marlboro High School has been named as one of New Jersey’s Exemplary Educators, the Freehold Regional High School District recently announced.

Each year, the NJ Department of Education (NJ DOE) invites public school districts (including charter schools) throughout New Jersey to participate in the Exemplary Educator Recognition Program.

The goal of the program is to identify outstanding educators for special recognition, alternating between elementary (Pre-K to 5) and secondary (6–12) each year.

A state certificate of recognition is given out to each candidate who is selected as an Exemplary Educator.

A 2010 graduate of Howell High School, current Marlboro High School science teacher Catherine DiMaulo has been named as one of NJ’s Exemplary Educators, the school district said.

After graduating from Georgian Court University in 2015 and starting her teaching career at Neptune High School, she began teaching at Marlboro High School the following September.

Since 2016, she’s been an active member of the Marlboro High School community, advising clubs such as Anytown: Leaders for Diversity, The Hidden Opponent, and Friendship Circle, as well as spearheading the Marlboro Girls Lacrosse program as Head Coach.

In addition to extracurricular activities, district officials said her professional responsibilities also extend beyond the classroom, as DiMaulo is currently a member of both the Intervention and Referral Services Team and the School Professional Development Team.

She was nominated for the recognition by Marlboro High School Science Supervisor Kim Fox, with Principal Dr. David Bleakley, Supervisor of Extracurricular Activities David Ryden, and colleague Marissa Hazel also submitting letters of support.
