Opinion: Bucks Mill Park Is a Disgrace

Having just returned from a walk thru Bucks Mill Park, some observations need to be made.

The grass is so absurdly high, its a good thing my dog is big or else I'm sure I would have lost her.

There is garbage all over the park and the pails look like they haven't been cleaned in weeks.

Rule one re: the prevention of Lyme disease, is to keep grass short. The jungle that is called a park is a total disgrace to the town. I guess we don't pay enough in taxes to maintain our "town rec center", easily the worst in the county with completely cracked basketball, and paddleball courts, rims that are so old and rusted that I personally replaced one so my kids could play, as well as cow pastures that the town calls fields. Whomever is responsible for this disgrace should be replaced immediately.

One would think that for Memorial Day Weekend, our families could take a walk in the park without having deer ticks running up my leg which I fortunately found after the walk.
