CJVA Boys Storm U16 Team Wins Bracket at 2017 Boys' Atlantic Northeastern Volleyball Tournament

The local Central Jersey Volleyball Academy Boys National team won their bracket at the 2017 Atlantic Northeastern Volleyball Tournament.

The Central Jersey Volleyball Academy (CJVA) U16 Storm boys volleyball team defeated the Lockport Volleyball Club 16 Blue team from Western New York in the finals to win their bracket at the Boys’ Atlantic Northeastern Tournament in Harrisburg, PA on Sunday. They also won against Red Rose 16 Black from Lancaster, PA and Outbreak Volleyball Club 16 Green from Virginia Beach to advance to the final round. The team is coached by Becky Prado, who has coached women’s teams at Rider University and Centenary College.

“The boys are really coming together as a team,” says Prado. “They played very competitively against clubs from all over the country as well as Canada.”

During the tournament, the CJVA U18 Chaos volleyball team finished in a tie for fifth place out of 53 teams in their age group at the Boys’ Atlantic Northeastern Tournament. Because of their strong play, CJVA 18 Chaos was awarded a competitive "bid" for the USAV Boys National Tournament, taking place in Columbus, Ohio this summer. This is the first time that any CJVA boy’s team has won a bid to Nationals. Only one other boy’s club in New Jersey has previously won a bid to the National Tournament.
