Collier Youth Services Annual Gala Honoring their Champions of Children

Collier Youth Services is hosting its annual gala on Thursday, June 9, at Addison Park in Aberdeen to honor their Champions of Children.

Collier Youth Services is hosting its annual gala on Thursday, June 9, at Addison Park in Aberdeen to honor their Champions of Children, Thomas Schember, Ginger Mulligan, Mary Pat Angelini, and Caroline Casagrande. Proceeds from this event will invest in the programs of Collier, a nonprofit agency that supports at-risk youth through special education, residential, and summer programs.

Thomas Schember, President of the Collier Youth Services Board of Directors, has a rich work history in finance and hospital management. After retiring from Franciscan Health Systems, Mr. Schember continued to provide consulting services to several non-profit care management organizations around NJ.

Ginger Mulligan, Collier board member, was the Executive Director of the Mental Health Association (MHA) of Monmouth County and created the Monmouth Housing Alliance as a nonprofit subsidiary of MHA. She has been a leader in statewide advocacy efforts to improve the mental health system. Ms. Mulligan was a founding member of Monmouth Cares, where she is still an active board member.

Mary Pat Angelini served as NJ General Assemblywomen from 2008-2016. While in office, Ms. Angelini sponsored legislation to improve the conditions at state psychiatric hospitals and to address underage drinking and drug abuse. Ms. Angelini is the current CEO of Preferred Behavioral Health Group.

Caroline Casagrande served as NJ General Assemblywomen from 2008-2016. Prior to being elected, Ms. Casagrande was a partner with the law firm Menna, Supko & Casagrande in Shrewsbury, NJ. Ms. Casagrande is the founder and director of the Young Women’s Leadership Institute, a program designed to nurture leadership skills of select high school juniors.

This year’s gala, Champions of Children, will have live entertainment from Grammy Award Winning Singer/Songwriters, Lori McKenna and Barry Dean who will be singing and sharing the stories behind their country music Hits.

The gala is made possible by a dedicated steering committee of area residents.
