Colts Neck Doctor Accused of Sexually Touching Patient Temporarily Loses License

License suspended for neurologist after patient secretly records him sexually groping her, officials say.

A local neurologist accused of sexually touching one of his patients has now had his license suspended by a Committee of the State Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Farooq Rehman, 61, who lives in Colts Neck but practices in Old Bridge, was arrested in September, after a 37-year-old female patient accused him of sexually touching her while she saw him for an examination.

On Aug. 26, Rehman allegedly “groped the patient’s buttocks, fondled her bare breasts, and touched her genital area over her clothing several times,” according to MyCentralJersey.com — all while the woman sought treatment for weakness in her hand.

The woman went back to him on Sept. 9 and secretly recorded him, according to MyCentralJersey.com. During that exam, Rehman again allegedly sexually touched her. He also became visibly aroused during both exams, according to the report.

The woman called Old Bridge Police, and Rehman was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact.
