Colts Neck Tennis Teacher Accused Of Child Sex Assault: Official

Breaking: Terry Kuo, 26, was indicted on 15 charges including making child porn; prosecutors believe there may be more victims.

FREEHOLD, NJ — A youth tennis instructor from Colts Neck has been indicted on sexual assault and child pornography charges involving a 13-year-old who was one of his students and other local children, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced Friday.

Terry Y. Kuo, 26, of Colts Neck, also known as “Victor Lee,” was indicted on 15 counts, including aggravated sexual assault, manufacturing child pornography and stalking, Gramiccioni said.

The charges stem from an investigation that began when one of Kuo’s 13-year-old tennis students alleged various instances of sexual misconduct at Kuo’s hands during the summer and fall of 2017, Gramiccioni said.

The investigation by the Marlboro Police Department, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Bureau and Computer Crimes Unit revealed child pornography on the Kuo's electronic devices as well as improper conduct with additional juveniles, the prosecutor said.

Kuo is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment on Feb. 20 before Superior Court Judge Vincent N. Falcetano in Monmouth County, Gramiccioni said.

Kuo was indicted on the following charges:

  • one count of first-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault;
  • one count of second-degree attempted sexual assault;
  • one count of first-degree causing or permitting a child to engage in child pornography;
  • one count of second-degree manufacturing child pornography;
  • one count of third-degree possession of child pornography;
  • one count of fourth-degree lewdness;
  • two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact;
  • one count of fourth-degree stalking;
  • one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child;
  • two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child,
  • two counts of third-degree obscenity.

Investigators are seeking additional information about Kuo’s activities and looking to identify other possible victims, the prosecutor's office said. The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Lavender. Kuo is represented by Mitchell Ansell of Ocean Township.
