Cop Injured After Being Hit By Car In Marlboro, Police Say
The driver of the vehicle was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, having an open container of alcohol and reckless driving.
MARLBORO, NJ — A local police officer was brought to the hospital after being hit by a car on Friday night, Marlboro Police said.
At 7:28 p.m. on Friday, the officer was directing traffic near a disabled vehicle at the intersection of Route 520 and Tennent Road when they were struck by a white 2023 Audi Q7.
The officer, whose name has not been released, sustained a head injury as a result of the incident and was brought to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dolores Santoro, 63, of Marlboro.
Following a roadside investigation, Santoro was arrested and brought to police headquarters for processing.

Santoro was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, open container of alcohol, and reckless driving, police said.
Criminal charges are pending as of Monday morning.
The incident remains under standard review by the Marlboro Township Police Department Traffic & Safety Unit.
