Downed Power Lines Close Road In Marlboro, Police Say

Emergency personnel and utility crews are currently on scene working to address the situation, police said.

MARLBORO, NJ — Downed power lines have closed a road in Marlboro on Friday morning, the Marlboro Township Police Department said.

As of 9:34 a.m. on Friday, Route 520 is closed between Gordon's Corner Road and Wyncrest Road due to the downed power lines, police said.

Emergency personnel and utility crews are currently on scene working to address the situation.

"Please avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews work safely to restore the roadway," police said. "Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Stay safe."

In an online post, township officials said JCP&L has advised that there may be a short-term spike in outages in order to safely repair the downed wires.

According to the JCP&L outage tracker, 858 customers are without power in Marlboro Township.

The estimated time of restoration is set for 12 p.m. on Friday.
