Downed Utility Lines, Trees Prompt Road Closures In Marlboro: See Where

MARLBORO, NJ — Multiple roads are closed on Monday afternoon due to storm-related damage, Marlboro Police said.

As of 11:45 a.m., the following road closures are in effect:

• Pleasant Valley Road is closed between Igoe Road and Route 34 due to a tree and downed utility lines
• Crine Road is closed between Village Road and Station Road due to a tree and downed utility lines
• The traffic signal at Gordons Corner Road and Route 520 is without power. A temporary 4-way stop has been established at the intersection

"Please avoid these areas, use alternate routes, and use caution while traveling," police said in an online post. "Additional updates will be provided as conditions change."

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Watch until 11 p.m. on Monday, alongside a Flash Flood Warning that's in effect until 2:45 p.m. on Monday.

In a letter to residents, Mayor Jonathan Hornik said heavy rainfall continues to impact the area, with flooding reported in several locations.

"If you encounter a flooded roadway, do not attempt to drive through it," Hornik said. "You cannot determine how deep the water is or whether the roadway has been damaged or washed away beneath the surface."

If possible, authorities are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel and stay off the roads until the Flash Flood Warning expires at 2:45 p.m.
