Elle Model, Woodbridge Woman Killed In Rt. 18 Crash In Marlboro
A 26-year-old Elle model from Port Reading has been identified as the person killed Saturday on Rt. 18 in Marlboro Twp. Her car hit a tree.

MARLBORO, NJ — A woman from the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township has been identified as the person killed Saturday when her car slammed into a tree on Rt. 18 in Marlboro Township.
Jackyara Tatis, 26, of Port Reading, NJ, was identified by Marlboro police as the woman tragically killed Saturday. Tatis was a model and was recently featured in Elle magazine as a model for Creepyyeha; you can see the photo spread here: http://www.elle.com/fashion/ce... She was born in the Bronx, but living in Port Reading at the time of her death.
Tatis was driving on Rt. 18 north at 5:24 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 when the 2013 Hyundai Elantra she was driving left the roadway for an unknown reason, Marlboro police said. Her car drove into a cluster of trees before finally coming to rest back on Rt. 18, right in the middle of the lanes.

Her Hyundai Elantra was then hit by a 2016 Dodge pick-up truck, driven by Gazmend Blata of Freehold Township as well as a 2002 Dodge pick-up truck, driven by Stanley Szewczyk of Brick. Tatis was the only person injured in the crash and the young woman was pronounced dead at the accident scene. In addition to modeling, Jacky, as she was called by her friends and family, was pursuing a career in art, according to her GoFundMe page, and was frequently featured in art shows across the tristate area.

"She was a beloved daughter, niece, sister, and an amazing friend. Jacky was one of a kind and had an unforgettable personality," according to her page. "This tragic incident was very sudden and her family and friends were not prepared for the expenses. The donations will be received directly by her sister, Jarnisa Tatis. Any donation would be truly appreciated."
Her funeral procession will begin Wednesday, October 18, at 9:15 a.m. from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 10 am at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Our Lady of Hungary Church. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden. Visiting is on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 5-9 p.m.
