Hundreds Still Without Power In Marlboro: See Details

MARLBORO, NJ — Hundreds of residents remain without power on Monday as the state recovers from brutal storms that battered parts of New Jersey over the July 4th weekend.

As of Monday morning, more than 55,000 New Jerseyans are without power, as more showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon.

According to JCP&L, many of those outages are by the Jersey Shore, and 1,015 customers (roughly 6%) remain without power in Marlboro on Monday morning.

Currently, the estimated time of restoration is listed as 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, though that may change as crews continue to work throughout the week.

If you do experience a power outage, Marlboro Police are asking residents to report that outage to JCP&L directly, so crews can respond as quickly as possible.

"Please do not contact Marlboro Police Dispatch for power outage updates," police said in an online post. "Our dispatchers must remain available to answer emergency calls and coordinate first responders."

If you see a downed wire, police ask that you:

• Stay far away.
• Never touch or attempt to move it.
• Assume every wire is energized.
• Call 9-1-1 immediately if there is an immediate danger to life or property.

While crews work to restore power in Marlboro and across the Garden State, a Charging & Cooling Station is open at the Marlboro Free Public Library from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Residents without power are welcome to stop in and charge their electronic devices, though they should bring their own charging cords.
