Marlboro Country Club Owner Admits To Tax Evasion

MARLBORO, NJ — The co-owner of a private country club in Marlboro Township admitted on Friday that he directed $3.8 million from the club for his own personal use, and failed to report it as taxable income.
Gary Beshara, 66, of Staten Island, is the co-owner of Bella Vista Country Club in Marlboro Township. He pleaded guilty on Friday before a federal judge in Trenton to one count of tax evasion. He admitted he used the money to pay off personal line of credit and personal expenses for him and his family between 2011 and 2014, NJ.com was the first to report.
Beshara faces up to five years in prison and at least $250,000 in fines. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 7. The country club is owned by the Beshara family.
