Marlboro High School Student Among Winners Of Law Day Contest

State Superior Court Judge Lisa P. Thornton will present the winners with plaques during the Monmouth Vicinage Law Day Celebration.

Marlboro High School student Raafay Tahir is among the winners of the Law Day 2015 Essay and Art Contest.

State Superior Court Assignment Judge Lisa P. Thornton, sitting in Freehold, will present Tahir and the other winners with plaques during the Monmouth Vicinage 2015 Law Day Celebration on May 1.

The Monmouth Vicinage and the Monmouth Bar Association will hold the ceremony at 4 p.m. in the General Equity Courtroom, Hall of Records in Freehold.

Speakers will include Lester E. Taylor III, who is the mayor of East Orange and a graduate of Long Branch High School, and Monmouth Bar Association President Marie Accardi.

Students from St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel will be presented with the Daniel J. O’Hern Mock Trial Award. Their team won this year’s Monmouth County High School Mock Trial Competition.

The Monmouth Bar Association Abraham J. Zager Professionalism Award will be presented to attorney William S. Gearty.
