Marlboro Jewish Center Evacuated Wednesday Due to Suspicious Call

The Marlboro Jewish Center Annex pre-school was evacuated late Wednesday morning after a suspicious phone call was received by the staff.

MARLBORO, NJ - The Marlboro Jewish Center Annex was evacuated late Wednesday morning after a suspicious phone call was received by the staff. The Marlboro Jewish Center Annex is located at 46 Topanemus Road and hosts a pre-school at that location. In an unrelated incident, a bomb threat was also called in Wednesday to an elementary school in Rumson. It is unknown if the two incidents are related.

Employees at the Annex called police Wednesday morning and school staff told them they received a phone call from an unknown person, which caused the staff to shelter the children at the Frank Dugan Elementary School, located a short distance away on Topanemus Road.

Marlboro police determined that there was no danger to the safety of the school children or the school building. The school was cleared and the children were escorted back at 12:27 p.m. The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department responded and assisted with the investigation.
