Marlboro Middle School Mathcounts Team Places First
Congratulations to all the students and their coach, Mrs. Marcia Wilson, for a job well done!

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Marlboro Middle School Mathcounts students placed first in the regional level of the Mathcounts competition on Saturday, February 4 at Union County College. The competition included schools from three counties in New Jersey.
Team competitors from Marlboro Middle School were Shadmehr Khan, Josh Rakovitsky, Alan Rza and Arya Tschand. Individual competitors were David Chang, Sarah Feldman, Gavesh Rajapaksha, Jadi Wang, Andy Zhang and Bill Zhang.
The Marlboro Middle School team placed first in the team competition. In the written competition, Josh placed 11th out of students from across three counties. Shadmehr, Josh, Alan and Arya will be competing in the state finals in March at Rutgers University.

Ten students from Marlboro Memorial Middle School competed in the MATHCOUNTS competition under the tutelage of Ms. Hope Freeman. Sixth-grade math teacher Jenna Baccaro was on site to cheer them on. Eighth-graders Adithya Balachandran, Lasya Balachandran, Tharun Chinnasamy, Sophia Lin and Skanda Sai and Arsh Singhal were joined by seventh-graders Matthew Shen and Justin Wu along with sixth-graders Varun Gupta and Ivan Wong .

The four-person team of Adithya Balachandran, Lasya Balachandran, Sophia Lin and Justin Wu placed second in the team competition, while in the individual competition Adithya Balachandran placed second overall. These four students will advance to the State Competition at Rutgers University in March.
