First opened in New Jersey in November 2023, the concept for Meximodo dates back to 2021, when Le Malt Hospitality Group CEO & Founder Saurabh Abrol’s daughters asked if he could make a restaurant that they could go to.
From there, Abrol recruited his team to bring to life a “fun, bright, and family-friendly venture that would soon be known as Meximodo,” according to their website.

Today, the record is 1,825 and was achieved by Junior Merino of the Liquid Chef & M Cantina in Dearborn, Michigan. Merino won the title in June 2025.
