Monmouth Authorities Seek Public's Help Identifying Man Who Washed Ashore
Authorities need your help identifying a man in his 20s who washed ashore on Dec. 30, 2013.
A man in his 20s washed ashore at Gateway Marina in Highlands on Dec. 30, 2013, and police are seeking the public’s help to identify him, authorities said.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police launched a joint investigation, but have not found any matches for the DNA Profile of the man in the FBI’s Combined DNA Index System, nor have any missing persons reports been filed matching the deceased’s description, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
The man has been described as a young white man in his 20s and forensic examination has determined he is not of American Indian, Japanese, Chinese or Guatemalan nationalities, the prosecutor’s office said.

The New Jersey State Police Forensic Artist Unit has released a composite sketch showing what the man may have looked like at the time of his death. However, facial features, hair length and color may vary.
If anyone has information regarding this case or if anyone believes the man in the composite sketch to be familiar, authorities are urging them to contact Detective Andrea Tozzi of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, at 1-800-533-7443, or New Jersey State Police Detective Steve Urbanski, at 609-882-2000 ext. 2554.
