Monmouth County Parks Invites Public To Review Open Space Plan

The Monmouth County Park System invites residents to two upcoming public information sessions on the Monmouth County Open Space Plan.

LINCROFT, NJ — The Monmouth County Park System invites area residents to two upcoming public information sessions regarding its recently completed draft to update the Monmouth County Open Space Plan. During these sessions, Park System staff will review the plan and take public comments.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday, September 25 at 7 p.m. at Thompson Park Visitor Center, 805 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738
  • Wednesday, October 2 at 7 p.m., Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, 331 Georgia Tavern Road, Howell, NJ 07731

Establishing the direction and priorities for the Park System’s land acquisition, the Open Space Plan illustrates the importance that the Park System places on the preservation of natural resources, connections with community and county residents’ quality of life.

Once formally adopted, the plan will serve as a tool to communicate the Park System’s vision to other agencies and county residents, encouraging them to take complementary action.

A PDF copy of the draft is available online at www.MonmouthCountyParks.com for public review and comment. Comments will be received until October 4 and may be submitted to: pgleitz@monmouthcountyparks.com. The Monmouth County Park System, created in 1960 by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, is Monmouth County’s Open Space, Parks, and Recreation agency.
