Morganville Liquor Store Sells $500K Lottery Ticket

A liquor store on Rt. 9 north near the Home Depot sold a nearly half-a-million-dollar lottery ticket last week.

MORGANVILLE, NJ — A Morganville liquor store sold a nearly half-a-million-dollar lottery ticket last week, the NJ State Lottery announced Monday. The store that sold the winning ticket is Cambridge Spirits, at 280 Rt. 9 north and Union Hill in Morganville, Monmouth County. It's the liquor store right by the Home Depot (it does not say Cambridge).

The lucky ticket matched all five numbers in the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot from the Friday, Aug. 11 drawing, winning the $418,467 prize. The winning numbers were: 02, 04, 23, 31 and 40 and the XTRA number was: 04. The winner has not yet come forward.

“We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Cambridge Spirits," said Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger. "The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for selling the winning ticket."
