Obituary: Dolores Ritz

Dolores D. Ritz of Tinton Falls died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 2 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, Dolores grew up in the Colts Neck and Matawan areas and graduated from Matawan High School. She worked at the Internal Revenue Service for 13 years and it was there that she met John, her husband of 58 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank at Tower Hill. Dolores enjoyed traveling with family and friends throughout the country and abroad. She was a great lover of the beach having lived most of her life at the Jersey Shore and spending winters in her homes in Pompano Beach, FL and Cape Coral, FL. She loved animals and was an avid reader and movie buff. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John in May 2012 and a sister-in-law, Helen Donovan. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Carolyn Ritz, of Howell, NJ and Kenneth and Janice Ritz of Tinton Falls, NJ; three grandchildren, Joyce, Timothy, and Devon Ritz; her brothers and sister-in-law, Walter and Carol Donovan, and Harold Donovan, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ. Funeral service on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, 10 a.m. at funeral home. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
