Lawrence M. O’Connor, 84, of Marlboro, passed away on Saturday,
February 25, 2012, at Wedgewood Gardens Care Center, Freehold.
Born August 15, 1927 to the late Andrew and Anna O’Connor in Jersey City, he lived in Middletown before moving to Marlboro 40 years ago. He was a World War II U.S. Army Signal Corp. veteran. He was a communicant of , Marlboro. Larry was a supervisor for PSE&G in Jersey City for 38 years before retiring and also held a NJ Real Estate License. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a true “family man”. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his baby daughter, Mary Colleen in 1958; his brothers, Robert, Joseph and John; and his sister Marguerite. He is survived by his wife of 63-1/2 years, Lilyan; his son, Lawrence and his fiancé, Anna Marie Scarpulla of Oakhurst; his daughters, Sharon and Joseph Labriola of Oceanport, and Mary and Dr. Robert Curran of Wantagh, NY; brothers, Raymond and Andrew; sister, Maryann Kyle; five grandchildren, Dana, Joseph and Joanna Labriola, and Robert and Colleen Curran; and great granddaughter, Adrianna.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church, Route 520, Marlboro. Interment will follow at the .
