Obituary: Marguerite Alexander, 71
Originally from Iowa, Marguerite spent the last 44 years in New Jersey, working as an accountant for Uniysis and for Geri-Care, Inc.

Marguerite E. (Hester) Alexander, 71, of Marlboro, passsed way on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care, Long Branch, after a long and valiant struggle with an illness. She was born in Topeka, KS. Originally from Iowa, she spent the last 44 years in New Jersey, working as an accountant for Uniysis and for Geri-Care, Inc. She was beloved by many, who will all feel the palpable loss.
Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, Herbert A. and Eva Bates Hester; a brother, Herbert Hester, Jr.; and her husband, Dr. James R. Alexander in 1976. She is survived by her two sisters, Lucille Thomas of DesPlains, IL and Joyce Grandy of Long Beach, CA; her devoted son, Jason A. Alexander of Marlboro; and her adoptive son and daughter, Daniel and Krysta Garavuso.
Family and friends are invited Friday, Sept. 7, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Saturday, Sept. 8, 9:30 a.m., with a 10 a.m. service at the funeral home.
Interment to follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
