Fatal Crash Closed Route 18 In Monmouth County (UPDATED)
UPDATE: A fatal crash closed nearly two miles of a New Jersey highway on Saturday.
A fatal pedestrian crash closed nearly two miles of a New Jersey highway on Saturday, according to authorities.
An unidentified man was killed in a crash that closed Route 18 for nearly four hours in the Ocean Township area, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
Route 18 was reopened after the crash closed the highway from approximately 5:30 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, according to the MCPO.

The pedestrian was struck at milepost 8.4 and the highway was closed from milepost 8.4 to 10, according to the MCPO.
The accident happened on Route 18 northbound in the area of Exit 10 and the intersection with Route 66, authorities said.

There was also police department activity on the Route 18 northbound ramp from Exit 8 and Route 33 in Neptune Township. The exit ramp was closed.
