Pot Deliverers Robbed Atlantic Highlands Residents

Atlantic Highlands, NJ - What they wanted was marijuana delivered to their home. What they got instead was robbed at gunpoint.

That’s what happened to two Atlantic Highlands residents Thursday night, according to the Monmouth County prosecutor.

Najzhir Islam, 19, of Jackson, and Juwan Williams, 18, of Tinton Falls, were called to an Ocean Boulevard home in Atlantic Highlands to sell the residents marijuana, according to the prosecutor. Instead, one of the men brandished a gun while the other used pepper spray to rob the victims of $265, before fleeing the scene.

The victims reported the robbery to Atlantic Highlands Police and a short time later Sea Bright Police located the car on Ocean Avenue, and stopped the vehicle within the municipal boundaries of Rumson. The two men were taken into custody by Atlantic Highlands Police.

Both are each charged with one count of armed robbery and second-degree possession of a weapon. Both men are being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on a $250,000 bail with no 10 percent option. The men were also ordered to have no contact with their victims, and they may not return to the scene of the crime upon release.
