The proposed Medical Building on Highway 9 in Marlboro Township

Over 29 million Americans have diabetes

"The proposed Medical Building would be committed to helping our Monmouth County NJ communities to prevent and control diabetes. According to the American Diabetes Association, over 29 million Americans have diabetes while another 86 million have a condition known as pre-diabetes. Diabetes is a serious disease. At its worst, diabetes can result in heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, nerve damage, blindness or amputation. This facility could offer a wide range of Diabetes Services to help people take control of their disease by obtaining accurate, up-to-date information regarding diabetes management. Through a outreach program, Health Promoters could go into the community and provide glucose/diabetes screenings to local clubs, communities and schools. They also could teach community members how to live a healthy lifestyle with diabetes and offer information about local low-cost clinics and physician offices for those who may be uninsured."
