Post-surgical office calls may soon be on the wane

House calls are long gone, and post-surgical office calls may soon be on the wane, too. A new study in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) finds that patients who used mobile apps to follow up in the first month after outpatient reconstructive breast surgery were no more prone to complications, were just as satisfied overall as patients who had in-person consultations and gave a big thumbs-up in relation to the convenience factor.
