Sandy Hook Park Closed Wednesday Morning
The park has no power due to a downed pole. Last night's storms did a number on the area: All roads in Hazlet were flooded including 35 & 36

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — Sandy Hook Gateway National Recreation Area is currently closed Wednesday morning due to a downed pole that has caused the entire 2,044-acre park to lose electricity.
The entire park is closed as of Wednesday morning, the federal park announced on their Facebook page. The downed pole is on the Sea Bright side of the Highlands-Sea Bright bridge.
Last night's storms and heavy rain did a number on the area: All roads in Hazlet were flooded as of 10 p.m. Tuesday night, including both Highway 35 and 36. There were vehicles stuck in high waters, said Hazlet police, who were warning drivers to stay off the roads and indoors.
