180 Turning Lives Around will be conducting it's annual Fall DVRT (Domestic Violence Response Team) 40 Hr Training course starting October 14th through November 6th, 2014, Tues/Wed/Thurs evenings, 6p-9p. The DVRT advocates are civilian members of the community trained to work in collaboration with local law enforcement throughtout Monmouth County to assist victims of domestic violence at their time of crisis. The trained volunteer advocates provide emotional support, local resources and options that are available to victims. Identities of advocates are kept anonymous. Requirements are, must be 18 yrs of age and older, have access to reliable transportation/valid drivers license, submit to background investigation, fingerprinting and able to complete the mandatory 40 hr training. Prior knowledge of domestic violence not required, bi-lingual volunteers also needed.
