Technology

Digital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays.  This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer.  This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged helping the dentist and dental hygienist detect problems easier.  Digital x-rays reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.

Dental x-rays are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam.  Dentists and dental hygienists use this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan.  Without x-rays, problem areas may go undetected.

Our intraoral camera will project images from inside your mouth onto a monitor. We can show you the condition of your smile and better explain the procedures we recommend.

In addition, Dr. Zeik and our team can assess your oral health down to the smallest detail.

Our Diagnodent Laser locates decay below the gum line and between teeth. It can even detect areas prone to future decayso that we can work with you on prevention. Cavities found early can often be treated conservatively without the use of anesthetic.

 
We use our Biolase® diode laser to recontour gums, remove overgrowths, and many other soft-tissue procedures. Reduction of bacteria and inflammation can often be achieved without the need for anesthetic.

The traditional dental hand piece is air driven. The compressed air drives a turbine in the head of the hand piece, producing a high-pitched, often anxiety-provoking noise and vibration. This vastly improved hand piece design can reduce the time you spend in the chair and may significantly improve the quality and fit of your final restorations.
