Old Bridge Man Killed, Another Seriously Injured In Rt. 9 Crash

The crash occurred at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday when a car crossed over the median on Rt. 9 and spun into oncoming traffic, police said.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — An Old Bridge man was killed and another injured in a Rt. 9 crash in Old Bridge Wednesday morning, according to police in that town.

The crash occurred at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Rt. 9 north and Phillips Drive.

Police say Driton Guze, 22, of Old Bridge, was operating an Infiniti Q50 southbound on Rt. 9 when he lost control of his vehicle. The Infiniti crossed over the grass median and into the northbound lanes.

The Infiniti traveled directly into the path of a Chevy Silverado, driven by Michael Bravoco, 29, of Manalapan.

The Silverado was unable to stop in time and collided with the Infiniti. Guze succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the Infiniti.

Bravoco suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The accident completely shut down Rt. 9 in both directions Wednesday.
