20 Inches So Far In Perth Amboy, Snow Not Stopping

ABERDEEN, NJ — Here's the latest update on the storm as of 11 a.m. Monday in Matawan/Aberdeen:

"Heavy snow continues this morning and into the afternoon, with additional accumulation expected across Aberdeen Township," Aberdeen Twp. said in a statement. "This storm is still ongoing, and conditions remain hazardous."

As of Monday morning, approximately 70,000 JCP&L customers had no electricity across New Jersey, approximately 25,000 of which were in Monmouth County. Aberdeen Twp. appears to have mostly been spared from power outages plaguing thousands, but there is a pocket of about 500+ residents out in the Cliffwood section Monday morning.

Aberdeen Township Town Hall is open as a warming center for residents who need a warm, safe place during the storm. If you need transportation to the warming center, please contact the Aberdeen Township Police non-emergency line at 732-566-2054 so arrangements can be coordinated.

"JCP&L and PSE&G crews have worked around the clock in extremely hazardous driving and working conditions to restore power as safely and quickly as possible and will continue to do so until all remaining customers are restored," said Monmouth County in a statement at 11 a.m. Monday.

"JCP&L currently has more than 2,300 personnel engaged in the field. These crews are operating in dangerous conditions, including high winds, whiteout visibility, and blocked roadways."
