Aberdeen Drug Take-Back Is This Saturday

Bring old medicine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to the township municipal building at One Aberdeen Square, off Church Street.

ABERDEEN, NJ – Bring your old, expired and unused medication to the Aberdeen Township drug take-back tomorrow, Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your pills for disposal to the township municipal building located at One Aberdeen Square, off of Church Street. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

The drug take-back is to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Local police departments across the country do this in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Agency. In addition, Americans are now advised that their usual methods for disposing of unused medicines —flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash — both pose potential safety and health hazards.

Last October, Americans turned in 366 tons (over 730,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at almost 5,200 sites.
