June 5 Job Fair in Aberdeen With 39 Employers

The job fair is Thursday June 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Matawan Regional High School.

The Aberdeen Economic Business Council, along with the Mayor and Aberdeen Township Council and the Matawan Regional High School Business Academy are inviting job seekers to take part in the community’s second annual Job Fair on Thursday, June 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Matawan Regional High School.

Open to residents of Aberdeen and other towns, the job fair will give those seeking employment the opportunity to meet with business owners and government agencies who are currently hiring. In most cases, prospective employees can complete applications on site.

The event will feature 39 employers based in Aberdeen and other towns in Monmouth, Middlesex, Ocean, and Mercer Counties, as well as Pennsylvania.  Participants will be able to apply for a wide range of full- and part-time positions in areas such as accounting, administrative, armed forces, banking, clerical, counseling, customer service, financial advisory, foodservice, homecare, home remodeling, housekeeping, human services, information technology, janitorial, law enforcement, marketing, market research, printing, retail, sales, residential real estate, security, theme parks, and transportation.

“Based on the positive feedback we received from exhibitors and job-seekers following last year’s job fair, we immediately began planning this year’s event,” said EBC Chairman Carmine Visone. “With more than 450 job-seekers, last year’s turnout exceeded our wildest expectations. As a result, we decided to move the event from Town Hall to Matawan Regional High School’s cafeteria to provide a more spacious and comfortable environment, as well as ample on-site parking.”

“We are very excited about the opportunity to include students from Matawan Regional High School’s Business Academy,” said Mayor Fred Tagliarini.  “The students, under the leadership of their teacher, Dan Bernstein, have been involved in assisting Carmine Visone and his committee on all aspects of the event, from floor plans and marketing, to event logistics.”
