Aberdeen Man Arrested for Hwy. 35 Burglary, Police Say

Here's the Aberdeen Township police blotter for the month of January:

ABERDEEN, NJ - An Aberdeen man was arrested earlier this month and charged with breaking into a Highway 35 business and stealing from it, police said.

Timothy W. Moore, 51, Aberdeen, was arrested on January 4 and charged with burglary and theft related to the burglary of a Hwy. 35 business on September 23 of last year. The burglary took place at Quality First Basement Systems on Rt. 35 and Moore is accused of taking a utility truck, some cash and some tools, Aberdeen Township police said.

  • Alexander S. Chinelli, 24, of Red Bank, was arrested on January 6 and charged with the theft of jewelry from a home on Warren Drive in the fall of 2016.
  • Christopher M. Tobiens, 34, of Aberdeen, was arrested on January 16 and charged with the theft of jewelry from a home on Oakshades Ave. in the latter part of 2016.
  • Spencer V. Pitt, Jr., Aberdeen, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest after officers arrested him on a contempt warrant out of Keansburg municipal court on January 13. Mr. Pitt struck P.O. Craig Hausmann in the face while he was being processed at police headquarters, police said.
  • A resident of County Road reported on January 4 that someone threw an object at his window and broke it. P.O. Gus Grivas responded.
  • On January 5 a student at Matawan Regional High School reported the theft of a cell phone. P.O. Jeffrey Griffith took the report.
  • P.O. Matthew McDow responded to a report of suspicious persons on Beaver Place on January 7.
  • P.O. Frank Maisano responded to a report of harassment on Orchard St. on January 7.
  • On January 8 a Sayreville resident reported he lost his wallet at a Hwy. 35 restaurant and that his credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases.
  • On January 9 it was reported that sometime over the previous weekend someone entered a building under construction at the Glassworks site on Cliffwood Ave. and broke 15 windows stored there. P.O. Frank Maisano responded.
  • P.O. Hank Chevalier responded to a report of criminal mischief at a home on West Prospect Ave. on January 10.
  • On January 10 a resident of Idlewild Lane reported the fraudulent use of her debit card to make online purchases. P.O. John Young took the report.
  • P.O. John Zeller responded to a report of harassment at Avalon apartments on Central Ave. on January 12.
  • P.O. Gus Grivas responded to a report of a theft of a ring at Avalon apartments on Central Ave. on January 13.
  • P.O. John Zeller responded to a report of harassment at Wellington Place on January 13.
  • On January 16 P.O. Matthew McDow responded to a report of an assault at the WAWA store on Hwy. 35.
  • On January 16 a resident of Innerhill Lane reported she received a phone call from a male subject purporting to be a representative of Apple claiming there was a problem with the computer and requesting remote access to her laptop. After gaining access the male subject kept the victim on the phone and then requested a $300 payment be made to a Pennsylvania company to maintain protection. P.O. Frank Maisano took the report.
  • On January 17 a resident of Woodbrook Drive reported incidents of internet harassment. P.O. Bart Szulczynski took the report.
  • A 16-year-old township youth was charged with possession of marijuana following an incident on Dundee Court on January 5. P.O. Anthony Marone was the arresting officer.
  • On January 6 a 25-year-old Marlboro man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Edison municipal court following an incident at the 7-11 store on Hwy. 34. P.O. Mary Johnston was the arresting officer.
