Aberdeen Officials Celebrate Grand Opening of The Cambridge Club

Aberdeen Officials Gathered to Celebrate the Grand

Members of the Aberdeen Economic Business Council (EBC) and township officials gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the Cambridge Club, a family-oriented social club on Lloyd Road.

Joining club founders/owners Frank and Tammy Ward and their staff at the EBC-coordinated event were: EBC members Carmine Visone, James Dolan, Bill Parness, Maxine Rescorl and Dr. Leonard J. Somarriba, as well as Mayor Fred Tagliarini and Township Council members Greg Cannon, Connie Kelley, and Joseph Martucci. During his remarks at the ceremony, Mayor Tagliarini welcomed the club to the Aberdeen business community.

The year-round facility currently features a number of amenities, including a 25,000-square-foot clubhouse with indoor and outdoor dining options, including Stillwater, a fine dining restaurant headed up by master chef Mike Giletto; a living room-like lounge; and a lower-level fitness area featuring a full range of Technogym equipment, a group activity workout room, spa and locker rooms. The upper level includes a ballroom and seasonal rooftop deck. Outdoor features include a six-lane competition pool, zero entry activity pool, heated therapy pool, 20-person jacuzzi, kiddie pool, splash pad, and playground.

The Club will also feature a variety of special events including family movie night, teen night, mahjong, and ice cream socials. Moving forward, the Club is planning concerts on the grounds, date nights, group play, adult-only pool nights, comedy nights, mystery dinners and cooking workshops.

The Cambridge Club is located on the grounds of the former Strathmore Bath & Tennis Club at the intersection of Lloyd Road and Cambridge Drive. Following the closure of the club in 2008, the land was purchased by the Wards. Ms. Ward’s parents, the McTaggart family, were founding members of the Strathmore Bath & Tennis Club in the mid-1960s.
