ABERDEEN, NJ — The Cash For Gold And More store in Dante Plaza on Rt. 34 in Aberdeen was burglarized shortly before dawn Thursday morning, the store owner confirmed to Patch.
Three male suspects dressed all in black and wearing black ski masks broke into the store at 5:30 a.m., said store owner Austin Renaud. They smashed the front glass door of the store to get inside.
Renaud said he actually received an alert on his phone from the store's Ring camera app in real-time that the break-in was happening, but he was asleep at the time. He shared the two Ring videos with Patch here; watch as three masked men break in and run through the store, running into his back office and rummaging through drawers, looking for valuables:

He said as soon as he got the alert, he called 911. Both Aberdeen Twp. and Matawan Police responded, and are investigating.
"They responded right away," said the business owner. "Both departments did an excellent job. I'm very happy to be in a town with such a responsive police force."
According to the store owner, they thieves caused about $1,000 in damage and stole about $1,000 in items. His store buys gold, silver, coins, jewelry, power tools and collectibles like electronics and Legos.
Aberdeen Police received a burglary alarm call at 5:34 a.m., said Aberdeen town spokesman John Roman.
"Upon arrival at 5:36 a.m., our officers located an unsecure and smashed front door to the business," he said. "At this time we believe that two vehicles were used to make a getaway. If anyone has more information on this incident they are asked to contact Det. Louis Nanna at (732)583-4200 Ext.212 or louis.nanna@aberdeennj.org."
The burglary was first reported by News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo, who reported it was "your classic smash and grab" break-in. “What I lost is minimal compared to the damage they did and everything," Renaud told News 12 New Jersey. "You know I got safes for a reason. Keep the place secured.”
