Aberdeen police arrested a Middletown man on a robbery charge and are investigating burglaries to units at a storage facility, cops said.

Aberdeen police arrested a Middletown man on a robbery charge, took a teen into custody for underage drinking at the beachfront and investigated a report of a stolen barbecue grill, police said.

They are also investigating a string of burglaries to units at a storage facility, authorities said.

Between July 1 and July 14, Aberdeen officers handled 680 calls for service, including 32 suspicious persons/vehicles, 38 alarms, 38 first aid calls, 31 motor vehicle crashes, two disorderly persons, eleven domestic violence incidents, six thefts, 16 noise complaints, three frauds, ten welfare checks, five burglaries, eight criminal mischief incidents, and 244 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 217 motor vehicle summonses.

Officer John Zeller arrested a 24-year-old Matawan man on a contempt warrant out of Wall municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Route 34.

A West Concourse resident reported she received a phone call from someone purporting to be her grandson claiming to be under arrest and needing money. She wired the money as requested only to find she had been defrauded. Officer Christopher DeSarno took the report.

July 2

Officer John Zeller responded to a report of harassment on Cliffwood Avenue.

July 3

Kyle W. Kauth, 25, Plainfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and speeding following a motor vehicle stop on Route 35. He was also charged with criminal mischief after damaging the cell area while in custody. Officer Frank Maisano was the arresting officer. He was assisted by Officer Jessica McDougall.


Antuane R. Claudio, 28, Aberdeen, was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Metuchen municipal court. He was also charged with possession of a stun gun. Officer Christopher DeSarno was the arresting officer.


July 4

A 33-year-old township man was arrested with criminal mischief and simple assault following an incident at Chelsea Village, Cross Road. Officer Frank Maisano was the arresting officer.


James Golden, 28, Somerset, was arrested with aggravated assault following an incident at Chelsea Village, Cross Road. Officer Christopher DeSarno and Officer Jessica McDougall were the arresting officers.


July 5

Officer Edgar Serrano arrested a 19-year-old Pennsylvania man on contempt warrants out of Aberdeen municipal court.

Several vehicles and a fence on Ryan Street were damaged by spray paint between July 4 and 5. Officer Mary Johnston responded.


Officer Vito Turchiano took a report of harassing phone calls on Northland Lane.


July 6

Christopher J. Stryker, 20, Middletown, was arrested on charges of robbery and harassment related to an incident on July 5 on Cliffwood Avenue. Detective Anthony Valentino was the arresting officer and Officer Vito Turchiano conducted the initial investigation.


Dean R. Butler, 39, Aberdeen, was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving following a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue. Officer Raymond Campbell was the arresting officer.

A resident of Avalon apartments, Central Avenue, reported the fraudulent use of his credit card. Officer Christopher DeSarno took the report.


Officer Matthew McDow responded to a report of harassment on Gloucester Court.


July 7

Officer Raymond Campbell arrested a 23-year-old New Providence woman on a contempt warrant out of Union municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on South Atlantic Avenue.

A 17-year-old township youth was taken into custody by Officer Bart Szulczynski on a warrant out of Monmouth County Family Court.
 A 17-year-old Old Bridge girl was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct and underage consumption of alcohol following an incident on the beachfront. Two of her companions were issued summonses for being in the park after hours. Officer Frank Maisano was the arresting officer with assistance from Officer Jessica McDougall and Officer Charles Trucillo.

Officer Matthew McDow responded to a report of suspicious persons at Strathmore Gardens, South Atlantic Avenue.


July 8

An 18-year-old Marlboro woman was arrested on a charge of shoplifting at the ShopRite store on Lloyd Road. Officer John Zeller was the arresting officer.

A Ken Gardens resident reported that someone entered her vehicle sometime during the night and took a necklace and a wallet. Officer Hank Chevalier took the report.


An Angel Street resident reported receiving harassing text messages. Officer Jessica McDougall took the report.


Officer Martin Walsh responded to a report of simple assault on Bechstein Drive.

July 9

A Lower Main Street resident reported the theft of a gold ring. Officer Hank Chevalier responded.



July 10

A 33-year-old township woman was arrested on a charge of shoplifting at the A&P store, Route 35, on June 27. Detective Anthony Valentino was the arresting officer.


 July 11

Officer Charles Trucillo arrested a 25-year-old township man on contempt warrants out of Aberdeen municipal court.


Officer Frank Maisano charged a 25-year-old Middletown man with possession of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Route 35.


Vladislav Sverak, 23, Old Bridge was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance when he was found to be in possession of Xanax following a motor vehicle stop on Cliffwood Avenue. Officer Frank Maisano and Officer Charles Trucillo were the arresting officers.

It was reported that approximately 19 storage units at Simply Self Storage, County Road, were broken into sometime overnight. Officer Hank Chevalier took the initial report and Detective Louis Nanna is continuing the investigation.


 July 12

Officer Bart Szulczynski arrested a 56-year-old township man on contempt warrants out of Aberdeen municipal court.


Yelena Krushelnitskaya, 37, Marlboro, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, use of a cell phone while driving, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle after a motor vehicle crash on Lloyd Road. Officer Roger Peter was the arresting officer.

Officer John Young responded to a report of harassment on Overlook Circle.


 July 13

A 28-year-old township man was arrested on a charge of simple assault following an incident on Andover Lane. Officer Raymond Campbell was the arresting officer.


Sgt. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 35-year-old Newark man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court.

July 14

Officer Gus Grivas arrested a 58-year-old township man on a contempt warrant out of Fort Lee municipal court following an incident on South Atlantic Avenue.


Casimir L. Scott, 27, Aberdeen, was charged with burglary following an incident at Strathmore Gardens, South Atlantic Avenue. Officer Matthew McDow was the arresting officer.


A Milton Avenue resident reported someone took her barbecue grill from her yard during the day. Officer Vito Turchiano took the report.
