Aberdeen Police Blotter, July 19-25

Someone spray-painted graffiti on the Matawan High School athletic building and other incidents in the past week:

ABERDEEN, NJ — Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests July 19, 2017 through July 25, 2017:

  • On July 24 a 30-year-old Holmdel man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court. P.O. Anthony Marone was the arresting officer.
  • A 39-year-old Aberdeen man was arrested on July 24 for simple assault and criminal mischief following an incident on Phillip E. Frank Way. P.O. Gus Grivas was the arresting officer.
  • On July 25 a 38-year-old Aberdeen man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of the Aberdeen municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Line Rd. He was also charged with driving while suspended, speeding, and other motor vehicle offenses. P.O. Mohammed Mahmoud was the arresting officer.
  • A 44-year-old Aberdeen man was arrested on July 25 for simple assault, theft, and violation of a court order following an incident on Kennedy Ave. Louis Nanna was the arresting officer.

Other police activity during that period included:

  • On July 19 a resident of Wellington Place reported that someone fraudulently transferred money from her checking account. P.O. Mary Johnston took the report.
  • On July 20 a resident of White Oak Lane reported his alarm went off and he heard someone trying to open a rear sliding glass door at approximately 10:15 PM. P.O. Jessica McDougall responded.
  • On July 21 an Amboy Ave. resident reported damage to an outdoor light and the siding on the house. P.O. Heather Dillon took the report.
  • On July 22 graffiti was reported to have been spray-painted on the athletic building at Matawan Regional High School. P.O. Hank Chevalier responded.
  • A Treeview Lane resident reported someone entered his garage and took a bicycle on July 22. P.O. Anthony Marone took the report.

Officers responded to or initiated 262 calls for service between July 19 and July 25, 2017, including 19 suspicious persons/vehicles; 15 alarms; 14 first aid calls; four domestic violence incidents, one noise complaint, four disorderly persons, seven motor vehicle crashes, one burglary, two frauds, two criminal mischief incidents, and 71 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 62 motor vehicle summonses.
