Aberdeen Police Blotter May 9 - May 15

ABERDEEN, NJ — Released by the Aberdeen Twp. police and unedited by Patch. Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests May 9, 2018 through May 15, 2018:

  • A 40-year-old Township woman was charged with simple assault following an incident on Ivy Hill Dr. on May 9. P.O. Bart Szulczynski was the arresting officer.
  • Special Officer Michael Rzigalinski arrested a 34-year-old Matawan man on a contempt warrant out of Keyport municipal court on May 11.
  • Michael F. Lagrippo, IV, 23, Colts Neck, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle following an incident at the McDonald’s on Hwy 34 on May 11. P.O. Jessica McDougall was the arresting officer, with assistance from P.O.s Bart Szulczynski and Bruce Monro.
  • P.O. Frank Maisano arrested a 42-year-old Middletown man on a contempt warrant out of Spotswood municipal court following an incident on Smith Court on May 12.
  • P.O. Matthew McDow arrested a 38-year-old Pemberton man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on May 14.
  • P.O. Edgar Serrano arrested a 34-year-old Metuchen woman on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on May 15.
  • P.O. Edgar Serrano arrested a 32-year-old Middletown man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on May 15.
  • Jorge Pita-Rodriguez, 19, Old Bridge, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, improper maintenance of lamps, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor stop on Cliffwood Ave. on May 15. P.O. Ronald Osadacz was the arresting officer.

Other police activity during that period included:

  • A Matawan resident reported the theft of his checkbook, some cash, and credit cards while he was shopping at the Shop Rite store on Lloyd Rd. on May 9. P.O. Mary Johnston and Det. Louis Nanna investigated.
  • P.O. Bruce Monro responded to the theft of merchandise from the The Tire Center on Hwy. 35 on May 10.
  • On May 11 P.O. Bart Szulczynski responded to the reported theft of $295 worth of merchandise from the Shop Rite store on Lloyd Rd.
  • A Matawan resident reported the theft of credit cards while her was shopping at the Stop and Shop store on Hwy. 34 on May 12. Special Officer Michael Rzigalinski investigated.
  • On May 13 the owner of a limousine company on Central Ave. reported someone entered the building at approximately 5:30 a.m., took a set of keys to a 2011 Lincoln Town Car, and drove away with the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Newark. Police officers Hank Chevalier, Gus Grivas, and Det. Anthony Valentino investigated.
  • Officers responded to nine motor vehicle crashes between May 9 and May 15 at the following locations: Church St./Sue Anne Ct., Cliffwood Ave./County Rd., Matawan Ave./Grove St., Hwy. 34/Lloyd Rd.(2), Lloyd Rd./Northland Lane, Lakeshore Dr./Ravine Way, Hwy. 35/County Rd., Hwy. 35/Cliffwood Ave.

Officers responded to or initiated 348 calls for service between May 9 and May 15, 2018, including 14 suspicious persons/vehicles; 21 alarms; 19 first aid calls; four domestic violence incidents, two criminal mischief incidents, five noise complaints, 17 disorderly persons, one burglary, six thefts, nine motor vehicle crashes, two crisis intervention calls, and 76 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 81 summonses.
