Aberdeen Police Blotter, Nov. 25-Dec.1

All the arrests made in Aberdeen, including an alleged DUI where a man hit a school van.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests November 25 through December 1, 2015:

On November 25 a 33-year-old Aberdeen man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Fort Lee municipal court.

Vincent M. Martinez, 20, of Aberdeen, and a 17-year-old female were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on South Atlantic Ave. on November 25. Mr. Martinez was also issued summonses for disregard of a traffic signal, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, and driving without taillights.

Lemuel D. Taylor, 41, of Rhode Island, was charged with aggravated assault following an incident on Milton Ave. on November 25. P.O.

P.O. Raymond Campbell arrested Stephen J. Langan, 54, of Monmouth Beach on a non-support warrant issued out of Monmouth County Superior Court following a motor vehicle stop on Hwy. 35 on November 25.

Sadie L. Novak, 26, Aberdeen, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and refusal to submit to a breath test following a motor vehicle crash on Hwy. 35 on November 26. There were no reported injuries. P.O. Frank Maisano was the arresting officer.

Christopher D. Hinds, 26, Old Bridge, and Ashley C. Hodgetts, 30, Edison were charged with possession of hypodermic syringes following a motor vehicle stop on Hwy. 35 on November 27. Mr. Hinds was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and making a prohibited turn on a red signal.

On November 27 a 23-year-old Old Bridge man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court.

On November 28 an 18-year-old Middletown man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court.

On November 28 a 48-year-old Hazlet man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court.

Jason Zajaczkowski, 39, Aberdeen, was charged with criminal mischief on November 28 after he caused damage to a surveillance camera in one of the police department holding cells and causing the cell to be flooded. Mr. Zajaczkowski had been arrested for disorderly conduct after an incident at Tree Haven III apartments.

On November 30 a 16-year-old township youth was taken into custody for possession of marijuana following an incident on Atlantic Ave.

On November 30 a 28-year-old Somerset man was arrested for criminal mischief related to an October 16 incident at Chelsea Village apartments.

Anthony R. Carbone, 24, Holmdel, was charged on December 1 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a crash, failure to report a crash, and assault by auto in reference to a motor vehicle crash on November 25 on Hwy. 35 near Amboy Ave. when he struck a school van that was stopped at a traffic signal, and fled the scene. He was stopped by Hazlet Twp. police a short time later on Bethany Rd. near Holmdel Rd. where he was taken into custody. Mr. Carbone was found to be in possession of suspected heroin. He was released pending a court appearance. The driver of the school van, registered to the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District, an aide, and juvenile passenger sustained minor injuries. Sgt. Matthew Lloyd conducted the investigation with assistance from Capt. Alan Geyer, P.O. John Young, Det. Louis Nanna, and Hazlet P.O. Richard Dickens.

On December 1 a 37-year-old township was charged with harassment following an incident at Avalon apartments, Central Ave.

A 29-year-old Union Beach man was charged with possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle following an incident at the WAWA store, Hwy. 35 on December 1. He was also arrested on a contempt warrant out of Union Beach municipal court.

Other police activity during that period included:

Officers responded to or initiated 269 calls for service between November 25 and December 1, 2015, including 15 suspicious persons/vehicles; 13 alarms; 14 first aid calls; five motor vehicle crashes; eight disorderly persons, four domestic violence incidents, two thefts, seven noise complaints, three welfare checks, four criminal mischief incidents, and 92 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 85 motor vehicle summonses.
