Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests October 17 through October 23, 2018:

A 36-year-old Aberdeen woman was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a motor stop on South Atlantic Ave. on October 18. P.O. Raymond Campbell was the arresting officer with assistance from P.O. Mary Johnston.

A 38-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with possession of marijuana on October 18. Det. Anthony Valentino was the arresting officer.

P.O. Michael Monteiro arrested a 28-year-old South Amboy man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on October 19.

A 17-year-old Aberdeen youth was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute following a motor stop on Cliffwood Ave. on October 20. Special Officer Brian Mason was the arresting officer.

P.O. Martin Walsh arrested a 55-year-old Elizabeth man on a warrant for parole violation out of Woodbridge following an incident on Barbara Place on October 22.

P.O. Hank Chevalier arrested a 69-year-old South River man on a contempt warrant out of Perth Amboy municipal court following an incident on Raritan St. on October 23.

Other police activity during that period included:

On October 15 a Warren Drive resident reported he received a call from a person claiming to be an attorney stating that the victim’s grandson was in trouble. The caller instructed him to purchase a Home Depot card and give the caller the number over the phone. The victim received more calls from the same individual
asking for more money. The victim then called police. P.O. Mary Johnston took the report.

On October 22 a resident of the Apartments at Aberdeen Station, Central Ave., reported the theft of a safe containing cash and jewelry. P.O. Edgar Serrano took the report.

On October 22 a resident of LCPL Phillip E. Frank Way reported someone entered her vehicle and took an iPad, some coins, and a bank card. P.O. Jessica McDougall took the report.

Two dogs were reported stolen from a vehicle at the Goodwill store on Hwy. 35 on October 22. One was a female Chinese pug, fawn in color, and a male American pug, color black. Based on surveillance video, the perpetrators were driving a late model four-door Nissan Altima or Sentra, gray or charcoal in color,
with out-of-state registration. The passenger of the vehicle appears to have been a male with a dark complexion wearing blue jeans, a camouflage hooded jacket with a similar colored round brim hat. P.O. Hank Chevalier and Det. Louis Nanna investigated. Anyone with information should contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054.

Officers responded to or initiated 273 calls for service between October 17 and October 23, 2018, including six suspicious persons/vehicles; 16 alarms; 19 first aid calls; four domestic violence incidents, two burglaries, three thefts, four noise complaints, eight disorderly persons, one fraud, six motor vehicle crashes, two crisis intervention calls, and 90 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 56 summonses.
