According to a news release from Chief John T. Powers:

Aberdeen police charged Mark Wasielewski, Jr., 42, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, with being a fugitive from justice after a motor vehicle stop on Lower Main Street Tuesday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., Officer Brian Alberti was on patrol when his automated license plate reader alerted him that a vehicle -- driven by Wasielewski -- had an expired registration.

After the officer pulled him over, he realized Wasielewski was wanted as a fugitive on an aggravated assault charge in Yavapai County, Arizona.

He was taken into custody and sent to the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, with bail set at $50,000, pending extradition proceedings.

He was also issued summonses charging him with operating an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
