Aberdeen Swears in Mayor and Council Members

Congressman Frank Pallone swore in Mayor Fred Tagliarini and Council Members Margaret Montone and Joseph Martucci on January 6.

At Aberdeen Township’s annual reorganization meeting on January 6, U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone swore in Mayor Fred Tagliarini for his third term and Councilmembers Margaret Montone and Joseph Martucci to their third and second terms, respectively.

Additionally, Montone nominated Councilman Robert Swindle to become the next Deputy Mayor. The nomination was unanimously approved by his fellow Council members. Swindle, who has served on the Council since 2012, takes over as Deputy Mayor from Montone, who served in that role for five years from 2012 to 2014 and 2016 to 2017.

“Our agenda is formidable, but this Council has proven that we are all up to the task,” said Tagliarini in remarks following his swearing in. “We will continue to work in a bipartisan manner with our new Governor, state elected officials and our Freeholders, for that is the way to accomplish goals and the way government should work. We could not move ‘Aberdeen Forward’ in any other way.”
