Aberdeen Township Announces Sponsorship Opportunities for Businesses and Groups at 2017 Town-Wide Aberdeen Day Festivities

Sponsorships and other opportunities are now available for businesses and organizations for the town-wide Aberdeen Day event on Sept. 23.

Mayor Fred Tagliarini and the Aberdeen Township Council are pleased to announce that sponsorships and a variety of other opportunities are now available for local businesses and organizations for the sixth annual town-wide Aberdeen Day celebration on Saturday, September 23 at Matawan Regional High School and various locations around the municipality.

Since the inception of the town-wide format, Aberdeen Day has grown in popularity, with increased participation at both the high school and shopping center locations, including the food festivals hosted by DeMarcos Catering & Gourmet Deli and Livoti’s Old World Market. This year, for the first time, Aberdeen Day will feature The Township of Aberdeen Carnival taking place from Friday evening to Sunday at Guisti Field.

This year’s event will start on Saturday morning with a 5k Run/Walk which leads into the traditional celebration at Matawan Regional High School, special business-sponsored events at shopping centers and other locations on Routes 34 and 35, and the Family Fishing Contest at Cliffwood Beach along with the carnival. To facilitate travel between the venues, Aberdeen Day will once again offer free shuttle service around town.

“With multiple levels of sponsorship and participation programs ranging in price from $50 to $1,000, opportunities exist for businesses of all sizes and budgets at a variety of venues,” said Aberdeen Recreation Director Jim Colabelli. “Sponsorship of Aberdeen Day offers a variety of opportunities for businesses and charitable groups to introduce themselves to the community,” he added.

New for Aberdeen Day 2017 is the elimination of the $50 fee for storefront participation that had previously been charged to businesses who wanted to set up a table outside of their location. “We hope that eliminating the fee will encourage additional businesses to take part in the shopping center events around town,” said EBC Chairman Carmine Visone.

“Aberdeen Day offers businesses a variety of options designed to meet their individual needs,” said Mayor Fred Tagliarini. “With the expansion of the events and the addition of the carnival, Aberdeen Day provides numerous ways for businesses to make themselves known to residents from Aberdeen and surrounding communities whether it’s by storefront participation at the shopping center celebrations on Routes 34 and 35, setting up a table at the high school, or the different sponsorships offered.”

For more information or to obtain sponsorship materials, contact Aberdeen Township Recreation Director Jim Colabelli at (732) 583-4200, ext. 129 or 173. The due-date for applications has been extended from June 6 to June 22. All donations are tax deductible.
