Aberdeen Township Announces Sponsorship Opportunities for Businesses and Groups at 2016 Townwide Aberdeen Day
Sponsorships and other opportunities are now available for businesses and organizations for the fifth annual Aberdeen Day on September 10.
Mayor Fred Tagliarini and the Aberdeen Township Council are pleased to announce that sponsorships and a variety of other opportunities are now available for local businesses and organizations for the fifth annual town-wide Aberdeen Day celebration on Saturday, September 10 at Matawan Regional High School and various locations around the municipality.
Since the inception of the town-wide format, Aberdeen Day has grown in popularity, with increased participation at both the high school and shopping center locations, including the food festivals hosted by DeMarcos Catering & Gourmet Deli and Livoti’s Old World Market.
This year’s event will start on Saturday morning with a 5k Run/Walk which leads into the traditional celebration at Matawan Regional High School, special business-sponsored events at shopping centers and other locations on Routes 34 and 35, the Aberdeen’s Got Talent contest at the AMF Center on Route 34, and the Family Fishing Contest at Cliffwood Beach. To facilitate travel between the venues, Aberdeen Day will once again offer free trolley service around town, including a stop at the overflow parking lot at the Aberdeen-Matawan train station.

Aberdeen Day will conclude with a free movie in the park on Saturday evening at Guisti Park in Cliffwood. In the event of rain, the movie will be held on another day.

With multiple levels of sponsorship and participation programs ranging in price from $50 to $2,500, opportunities exist for businesses of all sizes and budgets at a variety of venues. “Sponsorship of Aberdeen Day offers local businesses and charitable groups the opportunity to introduce themselves to the thousands of residents of all ages from Aberdeen and surrounding communities who participate in this annual event,” said Aberdeen Recreation Director Jim Colabelli.
High School sponsorship packages priced from $250 to $1,000 offer exposure prior to and during the municipality’s annual celebration. The $1,000 Platinum package, for example, includes mentions on the township website and Facebook page, a lawn sign at the high school, press releases, and T-shirt advertising. The $500 Gold sponsorship includes mentions on the website/Facebook page, a lawn sign at the high school and T-shirt advertising, while the $250 Silver package offers exposure on the website/Facebook page and Aberdeen Day program.
Businesses and crafters can exhibit at the High School for $50. The venue fee for food vendors is $100, while volunteer, entertainment and youth groups can participate free of charge.
Outside of the High School, merchants can participate in storefront events for $50 per location or opt for sponsorship opportunities ranging from $75 for T-shirt advertising, to $150 for Trolley Stop signage, $500 for large banners on Routes 34 and 35, and $2,500 for the circus.
“Along with traditional sponsorships, Aberdeen Day offers businesses a variety of options designed to meet their individual needs,” said Carmine Visone, Chairman of the Aberdeen Economic Business Council (EBC) and CEO of Home Away From Home Academy, who, along with Maxine Rescorl, Aberdeen Township Business Liaison, represents the EBC on the 2016 Aberdeen Day Committee. “With the expansion of the event, Aberdeen Day provides numerous ways for businesses to make themselves known to residents from Aberdeen and surrounding communities through storefront participation at our shopping center celebrations along Routes 34 and 35, setting up a table at the high school, or the different sponsorships offered.”
