Aberdeen Township Annual Doo-Wop Concert and Classic Car Show Attracts Largest Crowd and Number of Cars in Event's History
Aberdeen's annual Doo-Wop Concert and Classic Car Show attracted the largest number of guests and cars in the event's history.
Aberdeen Township’s annual Doo-Wop Night and Classic Car Show on Thursday, July 16, attracted the largest crowd and the greatest number of cars on display in the event’s history.
Held for the first time at Guisti Field in Cliffwood, the event, which was free and open to the entire community, featured musical performances by Special Request, a Classic Car Show with 85 antique cars on display and refreshments for sale.
“Approximately 350 guests attended this year’s event,” said Aberdeen Recreation Director Jim Colabelli. Township officials credited the increased attendance to moving the event from the Aberdeen Township Municipal Building to Guisti Field in Cliffwood which offers ample parking and greater room for the classic car displays. In addition, the event was publicized via phone calls to residents who signed up for the Township’s Code Red notification system, on Aberdeen’s Facebook page and website, as well as in local media outlets.

“It was gratifying to see Aberdeen residents gather together for a beautiful evening of music and memories,” said Councilman Robert Swindle, who attended the concert. “Residents of all ages enjoyed looking at the cars and many were singing along and even dancing to the music.”
