Aberdeen has approved an ordinance establishing new rules for the removal of snow and ice from residential and commercial properties.

The Aberdeen Township Council has approved an ordinance establishing new regulations for the removal of snow and ice from residential and commercial properties, as announced Tuesday, Jan. 19.
It is the responsibility of the owner of any residential lot, under the recently adopted ordinance, to remove all snow and ice from the sidewalk area in front of or bordering the lot within 24 hours of the end of a storm event. The sidewalk area should be cleared to a width of at least three feet.
Non-residential lots abutting or bordering on the sidewalks of a public street require that the property owner or operator remove all snow and ice from the sidewalk area in front of or bordering the site within 12 hours of a storm’s cessation.
