Aberdeen Township Honors James Dolan for AED Donanations

The Aberdeen Township Council marked National Cardiac Arrest Month by honoring Janet Fund Board Member James Dolan with a proclamation for his efforts to secure two automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for use by township organizations.

Dolan, who also serves on the township’s Economic Business Council (EBC) is a principal of Aberdeen-based Florham Realty Management, LLC, a commercial real estate development and management company whose holdings include the Aberdeen Townsquare shopping center.

The proclamation presented to Dolan by Mayor Fred Tagliarini called for the citizens of Aberdeen Township to support efforts to educate people and to raise awareness about the risk of sudden cardiac arrest, a leading cause of death with over 320,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests annually in the United States.

The Janet Zilinski Memorial Fund (The Janet Fund) was established in 2006 after the sudden death of 11-year-old Janet Zilinski, a seemingly healthy child who collapsed while jogging at cheerleading practice. CPR was started immediately but an AED was not onsite. Since its inception, the Janet Fund has been dedicated to protecting New Jersey youth from sudden cardiac arrest by making AEDs readily available at all schools, playing fields and youth sports events throughout the state.

“Through his work on behalf of the EBC and the Janet Fund, Jim Dolan has dedicated himself to making the township a better and safer place to work and play,” said Mayor Tagliarini. “We commend him for his efforts and thank him for his support.”

“We are pleased to see Jim and the Janet Fund honored by the Township Council,” added EBC Chairman Carmine Visone. “Jim had been an invaluable member of our Council from the time he came on board and epitomizes how members of the Aberdeen business community work hard to lend a hand to the community at large.”
