Aberdeen Township will host a Backpack Giveaway &amp; BBQ on Saturday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Midland Park. The event will feature music, food and beverages. Children will receive free backpacks filled with school supplies. The Backpack Giveaway and BBQ is being coordinated by the Aberdeen Township Police and PBA Local 163, Quality 1st Basement Systems, and Mayor Fred Tagliarini and the Aberdeen Township Council. Midland Park is located off of Jersey Avenue and Rose Street in Cliffwood.

Aberdeen Township will host its annual Independence Day Extravaganza at Veterans Memorial Park (Ocean Blvd &amp; Lakeshore Dr) July 1. Rain date is July 10. Festivities run from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM with the fireworks spectacular lighting up the bay at approximately 9:15 PM. 
<ul><li>Activities: Family fun zone, food trucks, inflatables, face painting, character meet-and-greets, and a DJ.</li><li>The splash pad will remain open until 8:00 PM.</li><li>Free bus transportation will be provided to and from the park</li></ul>
