Aberdeen Township will host an emergency preparedness meeting on Thursday, July 30 at the township's Municipal Building.

Aberdeen Township will host an emergency preparedness meeting on Thursday, July 30 at the township’s Municipal Building.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.

Created to help residents prepare for hurricanes and other natural disasters, the event will feature representatives from the Aberdeen Township Police Department, Aberdeen’s Fire Departments, the Aberdeen Township Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), JCP&L, New Jersey American Water, NJ Natural Gas, and Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue, among other agencies.

“Superstorm Sandy taught us the importance of being prepared in the event of a natural disaster,” said Mayor Fred Tagliarini.  “Knowing what simple steps to take prior to a natural disaster can make an enormous difference in one’s safety and comfort.  We hope that members of the community will join us for this worthwhile and potentially life-saving meeting.”
